Scope

  • The scope of WG-27 is to cover the DICOMwebTM standard, both by correcting (CPs) and supplementing it with new material (Supplements)

Current Supplements, Work and Objectives:

  • Sup 211 – Application/zip payload for DICOMweb
  • DICOMweb 3D rendering
  • CP1614/CP2040 – Specifying return types for DICOMweb endpoints and adding one for bulkdata/pixeldata
  • Various other small CPs

Challenges and Opportunities (Environment):

  • Generalized notifications
  • Ongoing joint efforts with HL7 FHIR imaging objects and IHE Radiology
  • DICOM+JSON needs improvement
  • Request that STOW be extended to support single part payload
  • There may be interest in RESTful Modality Worklist
  • FHIR based solution
  • IHE Encounter Based Imaging Profile.

Future Roadmap and Objectives (Committee Direction):

  • WG-14 Examining whether the DICOM SR XML format being considered should be added to DICOMweb
