Scope:

Develop and maintain the CT-specific objects for the DICOM Standard in the domains of nD X-Ray imaging, technical reports, dose information and clinical information, which accompany a patient general CT procedure. These include (but are not limited to) acquisition, processing, storage, communication, display and reporting. The CT group pursues opportunities for further enhancements in the area of clinical interoperability for CT.

Current Supplements, Work and Objectives:

  • CP-2010 New ImageType ENERGY_VRPROP_WT Status: In Discussion (current version of CP is not consistent wrt EnhancedCTImages, current idea is to split this CP into two parts, one for addressing the handling of the AdditionalXRaySourceSQ for MultiEnergy (urgent), one for the new image type)
  • CP-1196 (part of Sup214) “Add phantom-specific Total DLP Values to allow for Head and Body in same RDSR scope of accumulation”: Discussions ongoing about TotalDLP / SubTotalDLP in RDSR
  • CP-2018 "Description of CTDIvol is not complete": Trying to find a more appropriate definition of CTDIvol(z)
  • New CP planned for extending the Table E.3.10-1. Safe Private Attributes

Challenges and Opportunities (Environment):

  • Cooperation with other WGs for finding solutions beyond CT.

Future Roadmap and Objectives (Committee Direction):

  • Further follow-up of Supp188. Further CPs might come up during implementation by the vendors.
  • Looking into impact of Sup214 for CT
